HART CEO Katharine Eagan Named one of Tampa Bay Business Journal's 2016 BusinessWoman of the Year

Katharine Eagan, chief executive officer of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority, was named 2016 BusinessWoman of the Year in the Economic Development category by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

The annual award distinguishes the exemplary business women within their respective industries who have made a tremendous impact on our community.

Close to 550 people attended the annual awards dinner, held on Friday, September 23, at The Vinoy Renaissance in downtown St. Petersburg.

Fifty-eight finalists were honored at the event, and 13 were named category winners. Two received special recognition awards.

Eagan is a skilled professional with 19 years experience in operating, strategic planning, and business leadership for transportation systems. She has a consistent record of good stewardship and successfully recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance service delivery by developing and implementing effective management strategies. She's committed to staying current with high-tech, cutting edge solutions that improve transit today and lay the foundation for the future.
