Joss Whedon is making an all-out voter-registration push ahead of the presidential election on Nov. 8. Last week, he enlisted some famous friends (and Marvel cohorts) for an amusing star-studded PSA. And while it’s clear who Whedon would like Americans to choose to be our new commander-in-chief — hint: It’s not the guy who was referred to as the “racist, abusive coward” by Don Cheadle in that aforementioned spot — he’s also now revealed which of his beloved Avengers would make the best leader of the free world.

In an extended Facebook Live chat during which he also talked about registering to vote, Game of Thrones, Hillary Clinton, Gary Johnson and Brexit, Whedon was asked which of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes would be best suited to take up residence in the Oval Office. In typically droll fashion, Whedon made it clear that his pick would be Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, because he’s a man who’s “grounded. He not only has family values, he has a family. He has an actual family. He actually interacts with human people in a normal way. He has children he wants to protect. Every other Avenger, let’s face it: They’re a little out there. They’re a little bit disconnected from the real world.”

As for the more illustrious Avengers, Whedon says, “Definitely don’t want Tony Stark to be president,” and when it comes to Mark Ruffalo’s green giant, he suggests that, as we’ve seen during this real-life campaign, “somebody with a really bad temper is maybe not the best choice.”
