Cowboys get Terry McAulay's crew vs. San Francisco

FRISCO, Texas -- For the eighth time since 2010, the Dallas Cowboys will have Terry McAulay -- or at least his crew -- as their referee for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

McAulay has not worked yet this season for health reasons, but his crew has worked with different officials during the first three weeks. The league has said McAulay’s return is close, but it’s not clear if he will work this weekend.

The Cowboys are 3-4 with McAulay as the referee but he has not worked one of their games since 2014

In the seven games, the Cowboys have been penalized 48 times for 419 yards, while their opponents have been flagged 47 times for 436 yards.

McAulay’s crew worked with referee John Hussey last week in the Washington Redskins-New York Giants game at MetLife Stadium. They were busy with 19 of 24 penalties accepted for 198 yards. Washington had eight penalties for 70 yards and the Giants had 11 for 128 yards.
