Robbie Williams sings praises of wife Ayda for pursuing her own career
Robbie Williams has spoken of the pride he feels for wife Ayda Field for carving out her own career after taking time out to follow him around the world. "When we met, I kind of took Ayda hostage," he told the Sun. "I kidnapped her and took her away from her career. I needed her with me, and that was how it was going to work."
The star even admitted that he told Ayda to turn down a role in a US TV show to stay by his side. "I was like, 'Look, we're going to England and I want you to come with me. This won't work.'"

He continued: "The biggest reason I fell in love with Ayda is because of her personality. I'm incredibly proud of her and I'm not only in love with her, but I really like her… And I want her to be out there, and I want people experiencing what I am experiencing, because it's unique what she's got.
"I'm like a proud parent, even with the wife. I'm like, 'Go out there and shine, my love.'"
Robbie, 42, has been married to Ayda, 37, since August 2010, and the couple have two children together - Theodora, four, and 23-month-old Charlton.

American actress Ayda made her UK TV debut in the final series of Fresh Meat in 2016, and is currently appearing in the ITV/Netflix series Paranoid. She has also been a guest panellist on Loose Women since March of this year, and has proved a popular addition to the panel – not least because she frequently spills the beans about her husband and their marriage.
"There's nothing on there that she's said that I'm embarrassed about," Robbie said. "I'm sure there would be things that other people would be embarrassed about, but we are very much over-sharers. I've always been, and she is too.
"And I suppose we can try to outgun each other with the over-sharing sometimes which is scary! There are no secrets."
