The Mercedes-AMG super-sedan (wait, what does that make the S65, then?) can still be seen testing on various roads around the world, but with every appearance it makes, it looks ever closer to production.
And a simple understanding of how time flows will tell us that that's absolutely true. The Mercedes-AMG S63 is still going to roll out sometime during next year, but each time the sun goes out at night, that moment gets nearer and nearer.

However, we doubt there's anyone in this world counting the days. After all, the people who can afford cars like these don't have the time to daydream about their next purchase: they're too busy either making the money to afford them or counting the money they've already made. Indeed, just like the current one, the facelifted S63 won't come cheap. That would be over 150,000 euros (including 19 percent VAT) for a base S63 on the German market.

But Mercedes-AMG sure is doing everything it can to make sure it'll be worth it. We can expect much of the same as far as the interior goes, which will raise very few complaints even from the most pretentious of clients. The level of quality and comfort in the S-Class' cabin is something to be studied by aspiring automotive designers and engineers.

But unlike its more discreet sibling, the S63 also has to exude a bit of sportiness about it. The tiring parallel with the suit-wearing athlete is old and annoying, but until people come up with a better one, it's the best we can do. I guess a gentleman in a track suit would work as well, but we're sticking with the former.

On the outside, it's got larger air vents in the front bumper and a more aggressive air diffuser at the back. Of course, this is just common sense guessing, because Mercedes-AMG is still keeping these details under camouflage. A pair of twin exhaust pipes shaped like parallelograms is clearly on display, as are the perforated discs with AMG-branded gold-yellow brake calipers.

But the main culprit for the car's sportiness is going to be the new (is it still "new"?) 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that was introduced in the Mercedes-AMG GT, and later became unanimous with all the new products coming from Affalterbach. So far we've seen it in various stages of tune, but much like on the E63, the larger sedan is expected to get more than 610 horsepower out of it, together with that unmistakable roar. So, if only the Mercedes-AMG S63 clients were the type to get excited, they'd have plenty to do it for.
