CHENNAI: The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has introduced automated
planning permission application scrutiny pre-check
software, where building plans can be pre-checked ahead of being submitted for planning permission.
In a notice, the CMDA member secretary said the urban planning body was making the plan scrutiny process easier and convenient to the applicant and architects and licensed surveyors.
In this regard, the plans prepared may be checked with CMDA before filing the application for planning permission.
Auto CAD drawings can be checked by downloading automated planning permission application scrutiny (APPAS) pre-check software available on the CMDA’s portal using licensed Auto CAD professional version software from 2010 to 2013. Also, a separate dedicated counter for
APPAS pre-check is available at the CMDA office.
Colour code, layers, polylines, lines and text to be adopted are given in the user manual for APPAS.
