Japan assures more investment in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: Japan on Monday assured Rajasthan government of more investments in the state where several companies of the country have already set up units in zone dedicated for them.
During a ‘Policy Dialogue’ meeting held at Udyog Bhwan in Jaipur between the officials of the state government and representatives of Japan’s ministry of economy, trade and industry (METI), Ajitabh Sharma, commissioner Industries, shared his views on how the economic relations between Japan and Rajasthan could be taken to the next level with mutual cooperation.
He said that the state government has improved the business environment for the Japanese investors by introduction of various incentives and infrastructure development in the Japanese zone at Neemrana.
The visit of the six-member team follows a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) signed between the government of Rajasthan and METI during chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s trip to Japan last year. The agreement focused on mutual cooperation, especially in the areas of investment promotion.
Exploring Japanese expertise in the skilling sector, commissioner, investment & NRIs and managing director, RIICO, Vaibhav Galriya said if the Japanese companies are interested they can develop a curriculum for ITI Neemrana and utilize it to impart training under the guidance of Japanese experts. He said that RIICO and Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation will assist HIDA to use their expertise to develop ITI Neemrana of international stature.
