RSP land oustees gherao ADM

ROURKELA: Tension prevailed in the office of additional district magistrate (ADM, Rourkela) here on Monday, as hundreds of displaced families of Rourkela Steel Plant (32 Mouza) staged a demonstration, demanding return of the unutilized land of RSP to the original land owners.
After their discussion with Rourkela ADM failed, the protesters gheraoed the ADM office and did not allow the staff and ADM to come outside.Later in the afternoon, the ADM and other staff went to their homes for lunch with police escorts.
Citing the order of National Commission for ST, which had given direction to the state government to return the unutilized land of RSP to original land owners, the protesters demanded immediate implementation of the same. The ADM reportedly expressed her inability to execute the order with immediate effect citing several difficulties. tnn
