‘Give relief to folk around ammo depot’

‘Give relief to folk around ammo depot’
Gurgaon: The state human rights commission has asked MCG and the power department why residents living in the restricted area around Gurgaon’s ammunition depot are not getting basic amenities. Residents had complained they are being denied even as their case drags on in court.
MCG officials said they will send a reply soon.
“We’ve received a letter from the human rights body, seeking details of what we’re doing for relief of thousands of residents in the restricted zone.
The high court has prohibited building any structure in the area, so permanent relief is ruled out. We are now trying to build water tanks outside it,” said a MCG official. “The case has been going on for almost 6 years. We’d a lot of hope from BJP, but nothing has happened so far,” said Pratap Singh, a Palam Vihar extension resident, told TOI.
