GUWAHATI:
Union minister of state for defence
Subhash Bhamre and
Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju arrived at the Tezpur-based 4
Corps headquarters on Monday evening.
A senior Army officer said their visit is not related to reports of incursion of Chinese Army in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district on September 9. "They are on a visit to Itanagar and will spend the night at the 4 Corps headquarters," he added.
Denying reports of incursion, another officer said the Chinese Army might have stepped into the Indian side because of wrong perception of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
"This issue will be taken up by the political leadership in an appropriate forum," he added.
China has also denied reports of its troops crossing over to Arunachal saying that the Chinese military abides by the bilateral agreement reached with India concerning the LAC.
