The inflows to Singur project from upper stream continued even on Monday though the rains have stopped in the district. About 1 lakh cusecs of water was recorded as inflow to Singur while outflow was pegged at 85,000 cusecs. However, the inflow has come down to 95,000 cusecs in the evening with the same amount of water being released.
According to Collector D. Ronald Rose, the district recorded 14 deaths with one person still stated to be missing.
The total loss in the district due to the rains was estimated at Rs. 173.44 crore. Rain damage put at Rs. 173 crore in Medak district
The crops in 53,377 hectares were damaged and the loss was put at Rs. 48.47 crore.
As many as 10,895 houses were damaged in the district and the loss was estimated as Rs. 9.42 crore, while 418 pucca houses were damaged.
Panchayat roads 472.1 kilometres were damaged and the loss was put at Rs. 39.54 crore followed by R&B roads of 102 kilometres and the loss was put at Rs. 67.5 crore.
According to reports reaching here 43 tanks were breached and the loss was put at Rs. 8.5 crore.
