YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday began his two-day tour of flood-affected areas in Palnadu. Mr. Reddy toured by road and at several places got down in the fields to interact with cotton and chilli farmers.
Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr. Reddy said the Chief Minister had preferred to tour the flood-affected areas by helicopter while he had been directly interacting with farmers.
Mr. Reddy visited the SC/ST colonies in Dachepalli and Gurazala mandals. He was accorded a rousing welcome as he arrived at Dachepalli.
Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao took strong exception to Mr. Reddy’s remarks and alleged that the contractors close to him were responsible for the faulty designs of Addanki-Narkatpalli highway and inundation of Dachepalli.
“Never had a CM had two helipads on the terrace of his house. YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the only CM to have that luxury. Mr. Naidu, on the other hand, has been working 24 hours for the welfare of the State.”
