Walter Mazzarri was disappointed his Watford players failed to show the same hunger against Burnley as they did in their victory over Man Utd.
Jeff Hendrick and Michael Keane were on target as Sean Dyche's side recorded a morale-boosting 2-0 win over the Hornets at Turf Moor on Monday Night Football.
Watford, who beat Man Utd 3-1 at Vicarage Road last weekend, were second best for large periods of the game, leaving Mazzarri to question his players' determination.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It was not good enough. I was hoping the players would go on the pitch with the same hunger and determination they had before and they didn't. Tomorrow will be a day of reflection for all of us.
"I don't want to speak about what I told the players [in the dressing room]. We haven't said much but tomorrow at the training ground we will train and I will speak with my players.
"We were not playing good, then between the first half and the second half we made some changes and we starting playing well.
"But the moment we started playing well, they made the second goal and it was very difficult for us."
Victory was Burnley's second of the Premier League season, with their only other win coming at home to Liverpool, and Mazzarri conceded Turf Moor is a tough venue to visit.
"This can happen in football, especially in English football when you come to these grounds and it is very difficult to play," he added.
"Complements to Burnley, they played a great game, they pressed and were very aggressive, and they were a team that was very difficult for Liverpool also. It's very difficult to win on this ground and they proved it today."
