LD Engineering College to get Rs 76 crore Center of Excellence

Gandhinagar: According to a statement issued by the Technical and Higher Education department of Government of Gujarat, the state government has taken in-principal decision to set up Rs 76 crore Center of Excellence at L.D. Engineering college campus in Ahmedabad.
The center has been planned to avail benefits of technology to youths so that they can explore better employment opportunity, according to statement.
The center of excellence will be set up jointly by National Institute of Electronic and Information Technology(NIELIT) which is the Government of India arm and the State government.
Over a span of 10 years, the government will spend Rs 76 crore amount for this center, the statement said adding that all investment will be made by NIELIT while the state government will be offering building and operative services. The structure of faculty, syllabus and related equipment will be finalized by NIELIT.
It should be mentioned here that the Center will cover seven types of technology courses including Internet of things censors, Data mining and big data analytics, Cyber security, VLSI chip design, Artificial intelligence, Robotics and Nano technology.
The statement adds that estimatedly every year 300 professionals will be trained and minimum 20 will be able to start their business through proposed center.
