Widow of another slain Muslim cleric arrested

Police in Ukunda, Kwale County, have arrested the widow of slain Muslim cleric Samir Khan.

Samira Yakub Khan was arrested at her home in Maganyakulo at 3pm Monday.

She was later taken to Diani Police Station for questioning.

Msambweni OCPD Benjamin Rotich confirmed the arrest, saying Ms Khan was arrested in connection with a case in Kilifi County.

“I am not in position to comment about this issue because it is not in my hands as the matter is being handled in Kilifi and it is the officers from there who know better,” he said.

Ms Khan was arrested barely two weeks after the widow of another slain Muslim cleric, Sheikh Aboud Rogo, was arrested at her home in Kikambala, Kilifi County.

Hania Said Sagar has since been charged with failing to give to authorities information on a terror attack on Mombasa Police Station.
