ALLAHABAD: After the successful
Kisan Yatra being taken by
Congress vice president and
Amethi MP
Rahul Gandhi in Sangam city, leaders and workers of Congress party have taken up collection of Kisan Maag Patra (pamphlets) being filled by farmers in all 20 blocks of the district on priority basis.
Leaders of Congress and members of PK (Prasant Kishore) has set a target to collect around 5,00,000 kisan maag patra ( pamphlets) from all 12 assembly constituencies including Bara, Meja, Karchana, Koraon, Soraon, Handia, Pratappur, Phaphamau, Phulpur, City North, City South and City West of the district at the earliest.
Working president, City Congress Committee, Tariq Syed ‘Ajjo” told TOI “party leaders have taken up collection of kisan maag patra on priority basis from all 20 blocks of the district’. He further claimed “ from party workers to district and city Congress committee’s office bearers including those who have already submitted their names before UPCC ( Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee) panel seeking party tickets to contest elections from different constituencies, have assigned to collect pamphlets on or before October 5.
Interestingly, the congress leaders willing to contest elections have been asked to collect at least 10,000 kisan patra from the assembly constituency concerned while other office bearers were given target of 1,000 to 5,000. Party aims to collect at least 25,000 kisan maag patra from each and every block of the district.
“Each ‘Kisan maag patra’ has details of the amount of the loan being taken by the farmer and his appeal to waive off the loan” said UPCC general secretary, Mukund Tiwari adding “all the kisan maag patra being collected across the state would be handed over to the Prime Minister after the party’s rally to be held in Delhi on October 5 appealing PM to look into farmer’s (
Maan Ki Baat) grievances and problems and further take corrective measures to sort out the problems including waiving off the loans” he added.
Tiwari also maintained “ Congress leaders have successful to highlight the plight of the farmers especially loan waive off issue”.
Meanwhile, district congress leaders claimed that Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi’s approach to connect with farmers has yielded the fruitful results as more and more farmers are connecting with the party in all rural based assembly constituencies and it would surely give a positive result in the 2017 assembly polls.
