INDORE: After impressing judges with their innovations in the city and divisional rounds, five students from Indore and one from Khargone, put their projects on display in Gwalior at the state round of the 'Innovative in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research' (INSPIRE) programme on Sunday. Osheen Gangrade, Divyal Gupta, Deepali Chauhan, Kashish Kukreja and Poonam Verma from various state board schools of Indore and Devesh Karma from Government School, Khargone qualified for the state level competition with their innovative ideas that the students had showcased at the Indore exhibition of INSPIRE.

Competing with over 500 other students from the state, all six students put their models up on display at Gwalior's Mela maidan to qualify for the national exhibition. "The judges appreciated my project and asked questions about its concept. They also liked projects by the other students from Indore," said Osheen Gangrade. The judges' decision will only be declared on Monday.
Deepali Chauhan - a Class VIII student from Ishwar Prem Vidhya Mandir, Indore - has made a working model of a developed railway station based on the theme of 'Digital India'. Kashish Kukreja, a class IX student from Tirathbai Kalachand School, had prepared a working model of 'Sky bus',a system by which passengers can travel from one place to another without getting stuck in road traffic.
Another project that impressed the judges was the 'Load carrying device' made by class 11 student, Osheen Gangrade of Government School of Excellence.
"I got this idea when I saw a porter carrying a heavy load on his head. I researched the ill effects of carrying so much weight on one's head and decided to create a load carrying device which will make it easy to carry this massive weight," said Osheen. Meanwhile Devesh Karma from Govt. School, Kargone focused on the problems faced by the farmers and created 'Developed agriculture'.
In this model he created various devices that will help the farmers to increase their yield and will inform them about methods for doing so.

The district level science exhibition took place earlier this month, following which the six students were selected by a panel of judges comprising two professors from the state higher education department and one scientist from Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT).
The six models created by these students were the finalists in the district from among 58 models made by students from government and private state board schools. "The best six were selected by judges on the basis of their innovative thinking," said Pooja Shrivastav, nodal officer for the INSPIRE programme.
