Lahore: Congo virus claims another life

LAHORE (Web Desk) - A patient who had symptoms of the Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (Congo fever) died on Sunday at the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, Dunya News reported.

Sixteen-year-old Zahir Abbas was brought to Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital on September 15 with symptoms of Congo virus. His blood samples were sent to National Institute of Health and were found positive for the disease.

Congo fever is a tick-borne viral disease which is mainly transferred to humans from pets. Its symptoms include fever, flu, bloody urine, vomiting and nose bleeding.
