Gurgaon: Policemen in the district have been asked to pull up their socks and improve law and order situation. The “constructive feedback” has come from the additional director general of police (ADGP- law & order) Muhammad Akil, who held a meeting with police officers in Gurgaon on Sunday. During the three-hour long meeting, the ADGP reviewed the performance of the district police.
The meeting was attended by police commissioner, deputy commissioners of police, assistant commissioners of police and inspectors.

The ADGP, according to sources, conducted a zone-wise review of police stations. He analysed how each police station is performing and pointed out wherever he found they lacked. All station house officers were individually questioned about the percentage of cases pending, cases that are disposed of and those being investigated.Besides this, Akil told cops that the response time to any complaint should be improved and there should be no delay in registering an FIR. He said law and order situation in the city should not be affected under any circumstances, and there should be maximum deployment of cops on roads to tackle any untoward incident.
“The ADGP made the necessary suggestions like investigations should be made from a practical point of view, and told cops that the feedback should be taken as a positive criticism. He said that not just the seniors, but the junior cops too should be conveyed that it is a collective effort to make the city safer,” a cop who attended the meeting told TOI.
