Gurgaon: Two youths were arrested on Saturday for allegedly snatching a cab. The accused wanted to make a quick buck despite having jobs, police sources said. They have been sent to police custody.
The accused have been identified as Vikas alias Sonu Beniwal (24) from Panipat and Anil Sindhu (24) from Hissar. They were living in a rented accomodation in Manesar and worked as advisors for a company dealing in garments.

According to police, cab driver Sajid works for an app-based cab aggregator. On Thursday night, he got a booking around 8pm from Apex Hospital in Shanti Nagar for a drop in Hayatpur. Two men boarded the cab, a Swift Dzire car, from the hospital. However, within minutes, they asked him to go to Wazirpur. When they reached an isolated area, one of them asked Sajid to stop the car, saying he wanted to relieve himself. As soon as the cab stopped, the duo tried to strangle Sajid’s throat with a rope. They snatched his phone and wallet, and dumped him on the road before fleeing with the car.
“The accused were arrested from Wazipur. The car and mobile phone have been recovered,” said ACP Hawa Singh.
