ALLAHABAD: Apart from checking the rising crime graph in the
Sangam City, police personnel here have to new task at hand. A team of four policemen, including a sub-inspector, can be spotted maintaining a close eye on the morning-walkers, to check if they are wearing the shoes fit enough to be used on the jogging track at
Chandra Shekhar Azad (CSA) Park, or popularly known as Company Bagh.
Those walking barefoot, with slippers on, or leather shoes are requested to leave the track. For the purpose, Allahabad Development Authority (
ADA) has installed special instruction boards at several spots, appealing to the joggers to not use spike or wet shoes as this could damage the tracks. Also, officials have instructed the two-wheeler riders to avoid using the tracks for commuting. Same goes for the pet-owners.
SP (city)
Rajesh Kumar Yadav said, "Despite instruction boards set up around the jogging tracks, people continue to violate the set norms." The move came after damages were noticed on the newly-constructed tracks.
"Those found violating norms are being requested to follow the guidelines so that there should be no more damages." District officials said that the jogging track was set up at CSA park during the renovation of Company Bagh.
