Juventus reject suggestions Leonardo Bonucci will join Manchester City

The transfer window might be shut, but don't think the wheeling and dealing won't continue!

Free transfers can still be submitted to the FAs, plus there's January to start thinking about. As always, you can see all the latest deals here.

Bonucci staying put, says Marotta

Reports that Manchester City could be poised to rekindle their interest in Leonardo Bonucci have been brushed aside by Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta.

The Manchester Evening News reports Marotta as saying: "That's not what I heard," and stressing that no offer had been received for a player who was strongly linked with a move to City during the summer window.

Another injury setback for Vincent Kompany, who had to leave the pitch in the closing seconds as City won at Swansea in the EFL Cup last week, sparked reports that Pep Guardiola would revive those summer ideas of bringing Bonucci to Manchester.

City put their plans to sign the 29-year-old on hold because of Juve's £50 million price tag and the progress that had been made by Kompany until the Swansea cup game.

Earlier this month, Italy defender Bonucci -- who has also been linked with Chelsea -- revealed that he had been tempted by City's interest but felt he had made the right decision to stay with Juventus.

PSG going Bacca to the future

He has said he would like to work with Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery again -- and now Carlos Bacca could be closer to moving to the Parc des Princes, according to the Sun.

PSG are keen to replace departed talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic with another big-name forward and, having been turned down by Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann over the summer, are set to step up their interest in Bacca.

Earlier this month the Colombia international praised Emery -- with whom he worked at Sevilla -- and said PSG had been in touch about a potential move over the summer.

He told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser that Emery "is the best coach I've ever had" and added: "He brought out the best in me and is the one that has given me the most confidence. I would like to work with him again."

Milan for London as Son shines

Well, that didn't take long. Only a few hours after Tottenham were reported to be in the market for Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj they are now hot favourites to sign him, according to the Sun.

It reports that the 27-year-old Croatian is poised to move to North London for around £7m once the window reopens in January.

Badelj has also been linked with AC Milan -- but if the report is to believed they are going to end up disappointed.

Meanwhile, in-form Spurs midfielder Son Heung-Min has revealed that he asked to leave White Hart Lane in the summer -- but is now delighted that he stayed.

Son, who has had a starring role in Tottenham's fine start to the season, told reporters: "I wanted to ask [to go] ... I wanted to play more. This is true. [But now] I'm very happy to play here. The Premier League is the best league now."

Tap-ins

- FC Copenhagen striker Federico Santander is a sought-after man, according to the Sun, which says both Sunderland and Swansea want to bring him to the Premier League.

Santander, 25, has scored 17 times in 41 league matches and has also been monitored by Everton.

But the 25-year-old Paraguay international will be a difficult man to sign insists boss Stale Solbakken, who the Sun says would want "astronomical amounts" for the star striker.

- Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has said the club have no plans to bring in Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid.

Reports in the summer had suggested Odegaard could be heading for the Bundesliga, but Eberl played down speculation that a move could be revived in the January window.

He told Sky Deutschland: "It's not true. I think that we, at this moment, would not be the best choice for him."
