Sawai Gandharva Puraskar for Ganapati Bhat Hasanagi

A two-day whole night music festival at Kundgol in Dharwad district on Saturday and Sunday marked the 64th death anniversary of legendary musician Pandit Sawai Gandharva.

Noted musicians from across the country participated in it.

Chairman of the Sawai Gandharva Smaraka Vishwastha Samsthe Arvind M. Katagi has said that the Sawai Gandharva Puraskar was conferred on noted vocalist Pandit Ganapati Bhat Hasanagi.

The award was conferred during the inaugural ceremony of the music festival. Sri Shivasiddharameshwar Shivacharya Swami of Panchagruha Hiremath was present.

On the occasion, noted vocalists Pt. Parameshwar Hegde from Bengaluru, Pratibha Devaskar from Mumbai and Pt. H.R. Badiger from Bagalkot and flautist Shambhu Bhat Kadatoka were felicitated, Mr. Katagi said.
