Swachch rail week launched

Government of India is celebrating Swachch Bharath Week from September 25, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Jayanti, to October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, with a wide range of activities across the country, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu has said. Speaking after launching Swachh Bharath Swachch Rail Week drive in the railway station here on Sunday, he said the Mission had become a mass movement in the country. “Railways set an example for cleanliness and the other departments would follow,” he said. He administrated the Swachch Bharath pledge to the passengers and others. Earlier, he planted saplings on the railway station premises. Union Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar, and Ministers of State for Railways Manoj Sinha and Rajen Gohaine spoke, a release said.
