Dialogue only option for India- Pak to resolve issues: Vakil

SRINAGAR, Sept 25: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that dialogue is the only platform to move ahead to resolve all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan.
In a press statement today Mr Vakil said that by wars and confrontation nothing could be achieved it will only add to the miseries of the common people. We have already wasted more than 25 years in violence nothing was achieved. The society has received heavy jolt on all fronts.
“ Two wars had been witnessed in the past on Kashmir issue but the issues were not resolved and both the countries have to understand that war can only lead to destruction and devastation which both the countries cannot afford as the economic priorities have paramount importance and if we fail to address this priority our country will lag behind and will be in no comparison with the developed countries of the world so it is better for war mongers to stop thinking about war and start talking about dialogue,” Vakil added.
Former Minister also said that since mainstream opposition has failed in its deliberations to persuade the Central Government to initiate a dialogue process with the main stakeholders particularly separatists in the State and ban the use of lethal weapons like pellets, the only option left for the mainstream politicians is to get united and make every effort to influence the Centre by every means not to go for war as war is not at all in the interest of both the countries.
