Dehradun, September 25

The first Innovation Festival will be held at the Raj Bhavan in December 2016 on the initiative of Governor KK Paul. The Governor reviewed preparations for the same here yesterday.

The aim of the festival is encourage the youth towards self-employment.

The Governor gave several important suggestions to make the festival effective, successful and meaningful. Uttarakhand will be the first state to hold such a festival to be organised with the support of the National Innovation Foundation. The festival has been organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan till date.

The Governor, in August 2016, held a meeting with Prof Anil Gupta of the IIM, Ahmedabad, who is also the vice-president of the National Innovation Foundation. The theme of the festival will be “Innovation of the state for the state”.

Meanwhile, Dr RK Ravishankar from the National Innovation Foundation and his colleagues met the Governor and gave him information about the progress of the preparations for the proposed festival.
