KUWAIT: Police arrested a man who said he accidentally shot a Syrian and Egyptian near stores selling hunting rifles in Salmiya yesterday.

The Kuwait News Agency, which carried the Interior Ministry's statement on the incident, reported the Egyptian man is in critical condition and that the Syrian man has been injured in his leg, though no further details were given about his condition.

The shooter, a 45-year-old Kuwaiti, told police he did not know the rifle, which belonged to a friend, was loaded. The Interior Ministry said it is investigating the shooting. Hunting is popular among some Kuwaitis between the months of October and April.
