Video shows SP MLA luring women with saree, blouse for Akhilesh rally

LUCKNOW: A video has gone viral showing Samajwadi Party MLA Subhash Pasi distributing sarees among women, promising them free umbrellas and other doles along with lunch packets when they attend the SP rally to be held in Ghazipur district on Monday in which chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate a host of projects and schemes in the district and give away cheques under the government's Kanya Vidya Dhan scheme and free laptops to meritorious students.He also promised a petticoat and reimbursement for stitching of blouse pieces to paid at the venue. The event was held at his office in Saidpur assembly constituency of Ghazipur district on Sunday.
The specially printed yellow sarees with red borders have the SP symbol, bicycle, printed on them with a red blouse piece attached. The red and green umbrellas, resembling the colors of SP flag, were also shown to the women who had come to attend the meeting. "All women dressed in similar sarees and carrying the same umbrella will send out a message of harmony that prevails among the women in Saidpur...," Subash is heard saying in the video clip.
Associated with showbiz through Bhojpuri films and business interests in Mumbai, Subhash had earlier made headlines for distributing cricket kits among school children and hosting 'dahi-haandi' events in his assembly constituency. Talking to media after the event, Subash said he has distributed sarees before and will do it in future as well. "It is these women supporters who will be my workers at the booth level and such sarees and umbrellas only help them stand out as dedicated workers of the party," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav is scheduled to inaugurate Meghbaran Singh Hockey Stadium and Astro Turf Ground in Karampur village of Ghazipur on Monday (September 26). During his visit to the district, the CM will also lay foundation stone of an underground electric wiring project and other schemes.
