With every passing week of the college football season we here at CBS Sports spend more time wondering if we should just start calling these awards The Lamar Jacksons of the Week. The Louisville quarterback has just been so dominant that maybe we'd be better off giving the rest of the country a chance.

But we haven't made the change for this week, so we're going to continue making selections for the National, SEC and Freshman Players of the Week.

National Player of the Week

Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville: As I mentioned above, this is starting to get a little ridiculous. Lamar Jackson just continues to set the world on fire, putting up ridiculous numbers week in and week out. Were they to hold the Heisman voting today there wouldn't even be a reason to put somebody else's name on the ballot.

Jackson had another monster game for the Cardinals against Marshall. He finished with 417 yards passing and five touchdowns through the air, but that's not enough for Mr. Jackson. He needs to to put the pedal down and open up once in a while too, feeling the wind blow through his helmet as he runs, so Lamar also had 62 yards and another two touchdowns on the ground.

SEC Player of the Week

Joshua Dobbs, QB, Tennessee: It was tale of two halves for Josh Dobbs and the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. It was the worst of times in the first half, but Dobbs and his teammates had the best of times afterward, coming back from a 21-3 deficit to beat Florida for the first time since 2004. Dobbs finished the day throwing for 319 yards and four touchdowns, and he added another 80 yards and a score on the ground. It was a huge breakthrough performance for Dobbs and the Vols, as they now sit in the driver's seat in the SEC East.

Freshman Player of the Week

D'Eriq King, WR, Houston: I'm not the only one daydreaming about the possible ways Houston coach Tom Herman will use D'Eriq King throughout his career, am I? If Saturday was an indication, we may want to start calling him The Swiss Army Knife.

King threw a 15-yard touchdown pass, caught four passes for 61 yards and a score, and had a 99-yard kick return for a touchdown as well. Oh, and he also ran for 27 yards, but he didn't score on his lone carry there, so that's somewhat disappointing. Still, even with that failure, we'll give King the Freshman Player of the Week Award anyway.
