Virat Kohli's lookalike confuses people, fans click pictures with him
KANPUR: Right away from Virender Sehwag to Sachin Tendulkar, the duplicates make everyone crazy when spotted. Meet Gaurav Narang of Kanpur an entrepreneur and a look alike of Indian test team captain Virat Kohli who leaves people confused and is understood to be Virat himself.
Last year in October when South African player AB Devilliers saw Gaurav in hotel Landmark he recognised him to be Virat and said Hello.

When famous commentator Harsha Bhogle witnessed Gaurav at the hotel where team India and South Africa were staying, he too got confused. Bhogle had smiled at Gaurav and waved at him, considering him to be Virat. Confusion could end only when Gaurav introduced himself.
If this was not enough, the Landmark hotel staff taking Gaurav to be Virat had asked him if he had a pleasant stay in their hotel when Virat was checking out of the hotel. It was on October 11 in 2015 that India and South Africa teams had clashed in the one day international at Green park stadium.
The two teams had stayed at Landmark. Gaurav due to similar looks like Virat had managed to enter inside the hotel being understood as Virat himself. The police personnels on duty had even got confused and took selfies with him. They thought it was Virat with whom they got themselves clicked.
The trend continues this time as well when team India is in the city for a longer duration and playing test match against New Zealand. Where ever Gaurav passes through, people run after him for taking selfies.

Talking to TOI, Gaurav alias Virat said that last year it was before the India-South Africa test match that he learnt from friends and peers that he had looks of Virat. Gaurav said that it was after this that he took a haircut similar to Virat Kohli and got his beard reshaped.
"I got exact Virat look. Though I already had appearance like him but I looked very same like Virat after haircut. It is due to this reason that people hang around me for taking selfies. They are not able to differentiate between me and Virat", Gaurav said with a broad smile on his face.
He recalled that when he had gone to witness the one day international match between India and South Africa at Green Park on October 11 last year, spectators around had understood him to be Virat. "They started taking selfies with me and took my autograph. I had a tough time in coming out of the crowd. But this stardom is good and I am enjoying it", he added.
Gaurav also shared with TOI that after ODI he went to meet Virat at Landmark where hotel staff assorted him and took him to his room, thinking that it was Virat himself. "They had all respect for me. It was an amazing experience", Gaurav mentioned.
He also informed that commentator Harsha Bhogle during the Nagpur ODI match last year had mentioned me while doing commentary that he had met a look-alike of Virat in Kanpur match.
Two days ago when Gaurav was passing through Naveen market situated next to the hotel which team is staying, passersby stopped him and requested him for selfies. People were unable to understand why Virat was without security.
Gaurav said that he is a great fan of Virat Kohli and that he looks forward to meet him anyday on either Sunday or Monday so that he could gift him a T-shirt which has a face of Virat printed on it. He said that he had an opportunity of meeting Virat last year in October in Landmark where he clicked selfie with him.
