Heartbreaking photos show Dee Gordon honoring Jose Fernandez at Marlins Park

The Miami Marlins cancelled its game on Sunday following the news of Jose Fernandez’s tragic death, and its place, turned the stadium into a fitting memorial to the late pitcher.

Fernandez’s number was shown on the big screen in the stadium and was also painted onto the pitchers mound, just below a hat with the team emblem. It was understated, haunting and extremely powerful.
