Kapil Sharma housed in trouble! Police in Oshiwara record a number of construction violations in his flat

Mumbai, September 25: Just two weeks ago, the Mumbai Police had filed a  first information report under against small-screen comedian kapil Sharma for making illegal alterations to his apartment in Oshiwara in Mumbai. The police from the area even conducted a ‘panchnama’ on his house on Thursday . The comedian resides in a ninth-floor  flat at DLH Enclave in Oshiwara. The police have asked Kapil Sharma to pay a visit so that they can record his statement.

The cops have summoned Sharma in the week that begins today so they can record his statement. The cops along with members of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had started the ‘panchnama’ early in the day and on reaching his flat found that he was not there. However, his house help opened the door and allowed the authorities to inspect the flat.

However, on inspection, the authorities found that Kapila Sharma has made significant alterations to his apartment, some of which even went against construction rules. At many places inside Kapil Sharma’s flat, the police found that rooms had been pulled down to increase space. The kitchen and the hall had been significantly altered. A wall had also been pulled down to enlarge the bedroom. The police also found that Kapil Sharma had covered nearly half of the refugee area with unauthorised extensions to his flat, which is a severe violation of construction rules. In total, nearly three walls were torn down and the room sizes were altered. (ALSO READ: Oh really? Kapil Sharma Show actor Sumona Chakravarti compares herself with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan?)

The Mumbai police also video graphed tKapil Sharma’s apartment and preserved the evidence for future reference. According to a report in the Times of India, Senior inspector Subhash Khanvilkar of Oshiwara police station has said, “We have called Kapil Sharma to record his statement. Once we have that we will submit a complete report.”Sharma had been called for interrogation earlier but he told the police officials that he was in Malaysia and would be returning this week.

There is also another complaint against Kapil Sharma by the revenue department  for allegedly destroying mangroves while proceeding with the construction in hisVersovaa bungalow.  The entire series of actions against Kapil Sharma began when in a national attention-grabbing tweet Sharma tweeted out that BMC officials were demanding a Rs 5-lakh bribe from him, despite the fact that he paid crores in taxes. What  made the tweet more viral was the fact that Kapil Sharma inadvertently tagged the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in his tweet.
