56, and killing it from her kitchen, meet You Tube star Nisha Madhulika, Noida’s own Nigella Lawson
Madhulika runs a private channel on Youtube which she updates every morning with a fresh recipe for the last five years since May 16, 2011.
NOIDA: She is all of 56 and killing it in the kitchen; every day. On a daily basis her pure vegetarian recipes get more hits online, that a few starlets even do. For the last five years, she has been breaking the frontiers of technology and food from her Sector 34 address. Meet Nisha Madhulika a resident of Sector 34; Noida’s own Nigella Lawson.
Madhulika runs a private channel on Youtube which she updates every morning with a fresh recipe for the last five years since May 16, 2011.
The first one was a DIY video on how to make rose water at home. The overwhelming response and interest generated by the video inspired her to explore more and further. Madhulika’s recipes are pure vegetarian, easy to make, with ready-made off the shelf ingredients. Her Youtube channel today is one of the most watched food channels from India.
"I first used to write a food blog and then one day decided to do something on the video platform because recipes are so much better understood on videos. I wanted to show how come very complicated dishes are actually so easy to make. So I started with a variety of dishes for breakfast and then went on to do deserts, main course and more,” Madhulika said. Till date, she has made and uploaded 1119 videos.
Her recipes are simple and straightforward, like yogurt sandwiches, dosa, veg biriyani, jalebi, eggless cakes, vegetable momos. “Many people want to experiment with recipes, but think they are complicated to make. So I show how to make seemingly complicated dishes at home, without much hassle,” she adds.
After initial technical support from her husband, a technology entrepreneur, Madhulika now manages the channel herself, with the help of a videographer. She has created a separate kitchen studio for shooting her videos. “For two days in a week, I shoot. For the rest of the days, I research, put things together and organise all material for my shoot,” Madhulika says.
Consistency, drive and passion are the key for any online enterprise, claims Madhulika. “If you really want to make a difference, you can do it right from your own house," she smiles.
