NIFT puts up a sizzling show

The college auditions of Oppo Ahmedabad Times Fresh Face got a new twist at National Institute of Fashion Technology on Friday evening. Students started gathering slowly — securing their favourite spots by the staircase and corridors as the contest began. Participants showed some killer moves to impress judge Barsha Dutta, a fashion designer.
AN ECLECTIC MIX
The NIFTians who were from different parts of the country and showcased a wide range of performances.This was evident not only in their introductions but also their acts. Everything from bhangra to Malayalam songs were in the air.
DUDES AND DIVAS
The students packed powerhouse performances with a punch. They danced to hitnumbers like K Sera Sera, Jhanjhariya and Beedi Jalai Le with oodles of confidence. The audience danced along too.
MUSICAL NOTES
Some contestants showed their musical prowess by singing soulful songs; some also accompanied their songs with an instrument. Emotional songs were the flavour of the evenings as participants sung Bulleya, Ik Kudi and Ae Khuda.
WINNERS ALL
Bharat Chhatwal strummed the guitar and was declared the winner among boys and Sahil Arya danced in contemporary style to become the first runner up. Among girls, Pooja Singh sashayed her way to the winning spot. Anupriya Juneja too impressed the judge with her ramp walking skills to grab the first runner up spot while Charu Bakshi sung an Avril Lavigne number to become the second runner up.
