Raai Laxmi: 'Akira' opened doors in Bollywood for me

Raai Laxmi might be a new name to Hindi film viewers but the actress is a household name down south. The actress, who will soon be making her Bollywood debut with 'Julie 2', says her small role in the recently-released 'Akira' paved the way for her entry into Bollywood.
According to reports, Laxmi said that working in the AR Murugadoss film opened doors for her in Bollywood.Talking about 'Julie 2', Laxmi called the film very different from the original, which had Neha Dhupia in the titular role. She added that the film is not just about skin show, but has plenty of scope for acting as well.

The actress also indicated her desire to work in other regional languages apart from Tamil. She said that she was looking at scripts in Punjabi, Bhojpuri and Bengali but that did not mean that she wasn't getting any work in Tamil cinema.
