90% parents worry about adult themes

INDORE: A study conducted by Assocham found that watching excessive TV enhances the risk of obesity and aggressive behaviour. The study was conducted in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Indore and Patna. The study found that majority of (52 %) kids have a TV in their bedroom and 56 % of city homes have three or more TV sets. The survey conducted on 2,000 teenagers and 3,000 parents across 11 big cities revealed that most kids plunge into the world of television long before they enter school.
As many as 90% of parents say that television programmes are getting worse every year because of derogatory language and adult themes in shows that air from 7 to 10 pm.
