LARKANA: Vice Chancellor Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Ghulam Asghar Channa has announced that teaching faculty of BADC will be completed by October 2nd when the required doctors will be appointed on all vacant posts. He was talking to reporters here on Fridayafter presiding over a high level meeting in which deputy commissioner Larkana Javed Jagirani also participated. Prof. Channa said objections by PMDC are correct as registration of both BADC and MMC was not obtained. The VC hoped that the problem of registration or recognition with PMDC will be resolved before October 30th. Medical Superintendent of Chandka Medical College Hospital Dr. Javed Shaikh said that he has already written to Health Department for sanctioning 50 house job posts for dental students of BADC. He added that his request is still to be approved. Earlier, BADC students held a protest demanding the acceptance of their genuine demands and then they met with the VC and told him that without PMDC recognition/registration they will not appear in the annual exams due in November. The VC assured them of resolving their problems very soon. The VC further said that fresh admissions in both the colleges (MMC and BADC) have now been linked with the PMDC registration. It is pertinent to mention that the SMBBMU had floated advertisement for admissions in MBBS at Mahar Medical College (MMC), Sukkur, and BDS course at Bibi Aseefa Dental College (BADC), Larkana, despite no-recognition of the said colleges by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC).
