Man ‘murders’ wife

A man allegedly murdered his wife at Shaheennagar under the Pahadishareef police station limits on Friday night. Tahseen Salma was strangled to death by Mohd. Nazeeruddin at their house, the police said.

According to an official, Salma and Nazeruddin married four years ago and began frequently quarrelling over trivial issues since the last two years. On Friday night, they quarrelled again, after which the murder took place, and Nazeeruddin left the body in the house.

The police were notified about the murder after neighbours found that Salma had been murdered. A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the husband, said the official.

Woman dies of burns

A 25-year-old woman, who burnt herself at Chevella reportedly due to harassment by her husband, died at the Osmania General Hospital on Friday . The incident took place five days ago, said the police. B Yadamma married B. Yadaiah, a labourer, four years ago. According to an official, family members of the deceased told the police that Yadaiah frequently beat his wife over petty issues after consuming alcohol. After the couple had quarrelled on September 19, the woman poured kerosene on herself and set herself ablaze. She succumbed to her burns on Friday.
