Two killed, seven injured as jeep rams lorry

Two persons were killed and seven injured when their jeep rammed a stationary lorry on KG Road at Juturu village in Pamulapadu mandal of Kurnool district in the early hours of Saturday. John, 25, a resident of Dabra in Kurnool city, and Jammanna, 40, of Yerraburuju area, died in the Kurnool General Hospital, according to police.

The injured—Ravi, 33, Raju, 20, John, 28, Thammineni Muralikrishna, Venkatesh, J.M. Mahesh and Thimmappa—are being treated in the hospital.

The vehicle was coming from Vijayawada to Kurnool when the accident took place. Labour Minister K. Atchan Naidu, who is district in charge Minister, consoled the kin of the victims and enquired about the condition of the injured persons at the Kurnool general hospital.

MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, Kurnool MLA A. Ravikrishna, Joint Collector C. Harikiran and others accompanied the Minister. The families of the two deceased men donated their eyes on the occasion.
