Roma turns dancer in Jayaram starrer
Roma, who is back in Mollywood with Jayaram-starrer Sathya, says that she loved her character Rosy so much that she couldn’t but take up the role.
Ask her about the character and she says, “I play Rosy in the film. The details about the role have been kept under wraps so far. However, I can say that it is something that people have not seen me in.”
Its director Diphan, however, reveals that it is her character who takes the plot forward.
He says, “Rosy is a dancer, who is taken to Pondicherry by the central character, who is on a quest.”
Ask the director what prompted him to cast Roma and he replies, “Her personality suited the role very well. Also, she has been on a break for a year now, so I thought it will give a certain freshness to the role as well.”
About taking up a film after a hiatus of one year, Roma says, “If I have decided to take up something after a break, it has to contribute to the plot. Rosy has a very lively personality and a naughty tinge to her character. Moreover, she is there throughout the movie, and it is very much a central role. I couldn’t just let it go.”
Meanwhile, rumours about her being part of a film titled Mulberries had been on for a while, but the Chocolate actress says that she wasn’t aware of being part of the film! The bubbly actress giggled when she denied any such venture and affirmed that she has only signed Sathya as of now. “I have been listening to a script, but haven’t signed any other projects. I cannot say yes to something just to be around,” she signs off.
