Pakistan vs West Indies 2nd T20 2016 Result: Pakistan beat West Indies by 16 runs

Pakistan beat West Indies by 16 runs in the 2nd T20 in Dubai to take the three-match series 2-0. This of course keeping in mind that the third match is yet to be played. Put into bat, Pakistan made 160 for 4 in 20 overs. Sarfraz Ahmed was the top scorer, he made 46 not out. For West Indies, there was no spectacular bowling performance.

In response, West Indies were restricted to 144 for 9 in 20 overs. Andre Fletcher made 29. The pick of the bowlers for Pakistan was Sohail Tanvir who had figures of 3 for 13. Unlike the first match, this match was all about Pakistan. West Indies never looked like giving Pakistan a run for their money. After this comprehensive win, there is little doubt that Pakistan will be looking solid to take out another series win and will look for a sweep come Tuesday. This second match also proved that the world champions West Indies need to be at their best if they have to challenge Pakistan on this tour.

It was all Pakistan in this match. The last match now remains a formality. Of course it remains to be seen how West Indies change the tide. They have not been very sharp and would love to improve on their mistakes. It is a long tour for them and they need to come into their own sooner than later. (Pakistan vs West Indies, Live Score, 2nd T20I Match, Pakistan and West Indies in United Arab Emirates, 2016)

Pakistan will not be giving them any easy runs or wickets, this has been established. We will now have to wait and see how it goes in terms of the tour sickness if that sets in for West Indies. They have just not been able to play as per their potential thus far.

It is also interesting to note the character of the track in Dubai. It is quite a belter if you go by reputation alone. The track is not staying true to character and played differently on two different days. There is also no doubting that this is a typical Asian track where you have slow, low conditions for tweakers.

West Indies have a habit of getting into a sort of inconsistency and this is what happened in this series too. They would need to pick themselves up quickly if they are to challenge the best teams in the world on a regular basis.

There is a certain air about Pakistan cricket at the moment. They have played quite superbly to be where they are in terms of both form as well as reputation. We will see some solid cricket from them in the series, there is little doubt.

Dubai did not get the best of crowd and Pakistan must be disappointed with that. There is nothing like T20 cricket and if that does not get the kind of crowds that would resemble full houses, nothing will. We feel that Pakistan may be comfortable playing in these conditions, but may never feel like playing at home. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see them in the final match.
