Bashishtha Narayan Singh (69) is all set to be re-elected the JD(U) state president for the second consecutive term as no one else filed nomination papers for the post till Saturday, the last day for joining the fray.
JD(U) election officer Janardan Prasad Singh said Bashishtha filed his nomination papers in five sets. During scrutiny, all papers were found appropriate and accepted.
He said Bashishtha would formally be given the certificate on September 25 after the end of the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers. Bashishtha has been serving as JD(U) state president since November 30, 2010. He will be formally crowned the state president for the second term at the party's state council meeting at

Nitish to visit Karnal today: JD(U) national general secretary K C Tyagi said CM Nitish Kumar will visit Karnal (Haryana) on September 25 to attend a rally being organized by Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to mark the 103rd birth anniversary of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal.
