25 new transformers to be installed in focal point area: Chief engineer

LUDHIANA: During his meeting with members of Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) and Focal Point Association, Chief Engineer of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), NK Sharma on Friday announced that department is soon going to install 25 new transformers in Focal point area to make the flow of electricity more smooth and overcome problems like fluctuations and tripping. The meeting which was organised to discus the issues bothering industrialists was attended by several prominent industrialists.
Giving more information about the meeting, Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary of (CICU) said, “We requested the chief engineer to ensure regular maintenance for the prevention of fault & breakdowns and to adopt modern practices to control breakdowns as this will help the industries for better production & also PSPCL will generate more revenue”
Meanwhile Pankaj Sharma, President Focal Point Association said, “Ludhiana industry is already facing lot of regular power break downs which leads to increased problems in industrial production and such regular power break downs in the industrial area, even a single day causes huge losses to the industrial production.
We have apprised the chief engineer of this problem and other grave issues which we are facing”
