Pondy Cabinet decides not to sell temple lands

Puducherry, Sep 24 (UNI)The Puducherry Cabinet tonight decided to scrap the decision taken by the previous N R Congress government to sell out temple lands to private parties.
Chief Minister V Narayansamy after the cabinet meeting told mediapersons that lands were donated to temple to manage its day to day affairs and if it was sold out to private parties, the temple management will severely be affected. Hence, it was decided to scrap the decision of the previous government in this regard.
He also said the Cabinet had taken decision to initiate stringent action against those occupying government temple lands on lease and not paying the lease amount and those who had encroached the temple lands, and they will be evicted.
