Rahul kisan yatra raises ray of hope among farmers in UP

Lucknow, Sep 24 (UNI) Attracting a huge crowd along his 2229 km-long 'Deoria se Delhi Kisan Yatra' taken so far in the first leg, which completed in Lucknow last night, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi seems to have sent a strong message of his loan waiver scheme among the ryots and also forced the villagers to start thinking of getting a relief in electricity bills.
However, the peasants are still confused on how they would get benefit of Congress claims of increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
''There is a sharp decline in agriculture loan recovery since Rahul Gandhi started his Yatra from Deoria on September 6 as the farmers started believing on us that they will get a loan waiver, just like the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government did earlier, waiving off Rs 72000 crore of peasant loans,'' claimed a senior Congress leader, close to Mr Gandhi.
