The Manso Nkwanta District Police Administration on Wednesday arrested three out of the five suspected armed robbers who attacked passengers, including one Chinese national, along the Manso Nyamebekyere-Oiampeanika stretch of road.

The names of the three suspected armed robbers were given as Kwadwo Asare, 19, from Manso Nyadeyeya, Kofi Mensah, 24, from Manso Adagya and Joshua Nson, a 17-year-old native of Bole in the Northern region.

According to the District Police commander, Supt Daniel Kwabena Amoako, the police rushed to the scene, following a hint that the suspected armed robbers had attacked passengers and taken millions of cedis from them, amidst beatings.

The Chinese national was shot in the hand by the robbers and was rushed to the St Martins Catholic hospital at Agroyesum for treatment.

Supt Amoako said so far, 49 armed robbers have been arrested by the Manso Nkwanta police within one year.

He said the Police Administration would continue to arrest all armed robbers who harass passengers and mining companies in the area.
