Ganja peddling: man arrested

The City police arrested a 32-year-old man on Friday for allegedly peddling cannabis. Sujith of Menamkulam was arrested by the Kazhakuttam police with alleged possession of 1.15 kg of cannabis. He has been accused of peddling the contraband to migrant labourers, among others, after obtaining the product from Theni in Tamil Nadu.

Cultivating ganja

In another incident, the special squad of the Excise department arrested a resident of Vallakadavu, identified as Nazar, for allegedly cultivating ganja on the premises of his residence. A team led by CI Y. Shibu conducted the raid on the basis of a tip-off. Two days ago the excise officials had seized 700 ganja plants from Karakonam.
