Life imprisonment for armer

The Fourth Additional Sessions Court here on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to a farmer for murdering a woman and stealing her valuables.

According to the prosecution, Murugan (47) of S.S. Puram near Koodankulam, a farmer, had a property dispute with his relative Paulvannan of the same area. When the dispute turned worse on June 26, 2015, Murugan hacked Paulvannan’s wife Esakkiammal to death and stole her valuables.

The Koodankulam police arrested Murugan.

The court awarded life imprisonment to Murugan on Thursday and slapped a fine of Rs. 1,000.
