PANAJI: Raising doubts over the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee’s preparations for the coming 2017 state elections, AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh chided the party workers and block presidents for ignoring the preparation of the voters list in the state.
“The congress party does not pay attention to the preparation of the voters list. We should not allow bogus voters to be there. There maybe number of voters with list in the rural area and their name in the urban area,” Singh said while addressing block party presidents in Goa.

During the meeting which was sparsely attended, Singh also questioned the absence of the common man at congress meetings. “For our meetings only Congress volunteers are coming and not the common man. We have to approach the common man. We have to look at the issue of what government employees are saying,” Singh said to the party workers.
Singh rubbished media reports that certain party MLAs were in discussion with the MGP to contest the upcoming state elections. “We are in touch with all MLAs and this is not correct. We are in touch with Pandurang Madkaikar. There may be some confusion or misunderstanding and that will be resolved,” he said.
