: Three robbers, who were on their way to allegedly commit a murder, were arrested from north-west Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh on Friday.
The men — Ankit, Chand and Amit— were nabbed by the crime branch based on a tip-off, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint CP (Crime).
“They were headed to Samaypur Badli to kill Ankit’s maternal uncle with whom there had been a long-standing dispute over a property located in Begumpur,” said an officer.
For executing their plan, the trio had allegedly robbed a WagonR car. When the police confronted them, they jumped out of the vehicle to escape, but were nabbed following a brief chase. A pistol and some cartridges were recovered from them.
The police said Chand had been convicted of abducting and raping of a woman. He had jumped parole around two months ago, and had been indulging in robberies since then.
The accused have allegedly told the police that they are involved in a series of robberies.
